This weekend there is an opportunity for some guided listening in the fair city of Melbourne, Australia. Go on an aural tour of Melbourne this Saturday July 30 and Sunday July 31st on a Soundwalk, as part of Melbourne Open House.
A soundwalk is any excursion where the main purpose is listening to the environment. Wherever we go we will give our ears priority.
To sign up for these tours you will need to check in from 9.30am on Saturday or Sunday at the MOH Info hub, The Atrium at Federation Square. The tours begin at Federation Square, exploring the Land Titles Office, 131 Queen St and Origin Rooftop garden and runs for 45-60minutes.
What is the acoustic ecology of your city? Can you listen or walk with awareness in a group or as an individual for an hour? All will be revealed with this limited opportunity to take part in a ‘Soundwalk of Your City and its Buildings’
Listen closely – and rediscover another dimension to your city
